Ltd. 25The Establishment of akebono Training CenterWith the aim of nurturing globally capable associates the“akebono Training Center” will be established at Ai-City(Hanyu City Saitama).We are planning to utilize the center as a place forexchanges among human resources from group membersworldwide. Through such exchanges we are aiming to createnew values as associates share knowledge obtained inthe course of Akebono’s global expansion which has proceededrapidly in recent years.At Ai-City where Akebono’s headquarters is situated the Monozukuri Center maintains Akebono’s technologicaltraditions and the “ai-museum (Brake Museum)” preservesthe history of Akebono’s technological development.Aiming to solidify our foundation of human resources overthe medium- to long-term we will expand the human resourcenurturing functions of Ai-City with the establishment of theakebono Training Center and promote the development ofassociates with the potential for success on the global stage.Main Features of the Facility? Independent power generators to ensure emergency electricitysupplyOverseas Expansion of Monozukuri CenterThe Monozukuri Center provides a forum for learning theprinciples of manufacturing that is always open to anyone inAkebono. In addition to offering a series of short-term trainingprograms that incorporate the hands-on experience ofmanufacturing the center provides associates with opportunitiesto make new friends.The center plays an important role in nurturing Akebono’shuman resources offering training classes nationwide. Inparticular it aims to develop associates who will go on tostrengthen the functionality of production sites. Also thecenter promotes the dissemination of Akebono’s manufacturingstrengths?built upon a solid tradition of JapaneseMonozukuri?among its overseas operations. For those whohave been in Akebono less than 10 years Basic TechnicalClasses are currently offered at domestic factories as well asan intensive training program teaching best practices.The Company invited six associates from Indonesia inFebruary 2012 to participate in the Basic TechnicalClasses. These trainees will in turn become trainers teachingthe Group’s first overseas session of the BasicTechnical Class which is planned to kick off in July 2012 inIndonesia.
