Our Mobile Brake Technology Educational Center
Employing the “Mobile Brake Technology Educational Center,” a vehicle specially designed to display braking mechanisms in an easy to understand way, representatives of Akebono's aftermarket sales section visit auto dealers and automobile repair shops nationwide to teach car salesman and auto mechanics about the structure and features of Akebono brakes and give them tips on brake maintenance. More than 200 training sessions are held each year and attendees' feedback and comments are later reflected in product development. We are confident that this initiative is helping to make driving safer by promoting optimal brake maintenance while at the same time promoting the Akebono brand.
Well before the Great East Japan Earthquake, Akebono and its suppliers carried out periodic earthquake simulations to ensure the safety of associates and their families, provide assistance to disaster stricken communities and maintain a stable supply of brakes for customers.
In fiscal 2015, the Company conducted its ninth simulation drill, assuming that its manufacturing sites were hit by an earthquake centered in Fukushima Prefecture. By assuming a different seismic center and scenario for each occasion, the drills confirm that the Company's structure capable of launching full-scale assistance for local communities in the immediate wake of a disaster.

With the aim of promoting its corporate branding initiative, the Akebono Group's principal bases nationwide have obtained and are maintaining the ISO/TS16949 quality management system certifications introduced by automotive manufacturers overseas. In addition, efforts are now under way to acquire the ISO26262 certification with regard to automotive electronic and electrical safety-related systems.

Global Contribution Award Received from Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd.
Akebono received the Global Contribution Award from Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. in April 2015. The award recognizes suppliers that have made major contributions to Yamaha Motor's production activities in the areas such as cost reduction, the stable launch of new models, and lead time and quality improvements. Receiving the award is a testament to the results we have generated through our comprehensive strengths.
First Quality Award Received from Denso Corp.
Akebono received the Quality Award at the Fiscal 2015 General Meeting of Suppliers held by Denso Corporation in May 2015. The award recognized the high quality of the clutch facings produced at Akebono Brake Fukushima Manufacturing Co., Ltd. Comprehensive initiatives conducted together by the customer, the sales division, Fukushima Manufacturing and the development division to reduce costs, develop a new friction material and produce one product at two separate sites led to the award.
AKBT Receives The Best in Service Parts Award from Isuzu Motors Co., (Thailand) Ltd.
Akebono Brake (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (AKBT) received The Best in Service Parts award from Isuzu Motors Co., (Thailand) Ltd. (IMCT) in June 2015. The award was received for AKBT's on-time delivery rate and the high quality of aftermarket products (OES) as well as for the company's cooperative stance in providing a quick response and maintaining good communications. AKBT's OEM division received The Best in Quality award in 2013, but this was the first award for the company's aftermarket products sales division.
ABC Receives Third Excellence in Quality Award from Honda North America
Akebono Brake Corporation (ABC) received the fiscal 2015 Excellence in Quality Award from Honda North America Co., Inc. (HNA) in April 2016, the third time it has won the award. ABC supplies approximately 4.5 million products to HNA annually, and its efforts in maintaining and improving quality at its plants in North America (ABE, ABG, ABCT) led to the award. Going forward, ABC will continue to pursue even greater quality, higher performance and better safety.
