Opening Race of the 2013 MFJ All Japan Road Race Championship Series: Racer Takumi Takahashi takes second on the MuSASHi RT HARC-Pro, supplied with Akebono brake system

The MuSASHi RT Harc-Pro (rider: Takumi Takahashi, Honda CBR1000RR), to which Akebono supplies brake system, took second place in the JSB1000 class race in the first round of the 2013 MFJ All Japan Road Race Championship Series on March 31 at the Twin Ring Motegi race track in Tochigi Prefecture.

Takahashi, having wiped out in the preliminary, started in tenth position. He leapt from the fourth row into the lead pack, advancing to third place in the third lap, and second place in the sixth. Subsequently, he stepped up his pace even more. Although he didn't catch up with Kosuke Akiyoshi, who had been in first place from the start, he rode consistently, and finished second.

In a post-race press conference, Takahashi commented: "The track conditions were bad - cold and drizzly - and I went too cautiously in the first laps. When I realized my pace was too slow, Akiyoshi had already distanced me. Even so, I'm glad I finished second under such conditions. In the next round, I'm going to do my best."

The Round 2 of the 2013 MFJ All Japan Road Race Championship Series (Suzuka 2 and 4 Races), will take place on April 13 and 14, at the Suzuka Circuit in Mie Prefecture.

Akebono participated in JSB1000, the top category of the All Japan Road Race Championship Series, from 2004 to 2008. In the 2011 season, Akebono took part for the first time in two years, and in the 2012-2013 season, too, Akebono is supplying the brake system for the MuSASHi RT HARC-Pro.
