Ltd.Quality Management System (ISO/TS16949)All of Akebono’s principal operations nationwide haveobtained the ISO/TS 16949 quality management systemcertification introduced by automotive manufacturers overseasalong with ISO 9001 quality management certification.Akebono maintains its ISO management systems and aimsto expand its scope of certification in pursuit of furtherdeveloping its business relationships with domestic andoverseas automotive manufacturers.In fiscal 2011 our operations received regular audits bythe external certification bodies. Only one minor point ofnon-conformance was found the lowest number to date. Reports wereheld on the results of the Tohoku Project undertaken in supportof the restoration of areas devastated by the Great EastJapan Earthquake (please see page 8 for details).Participants also shared information on and spread awarenessof reformation projects proceeding in aftermarket salesdivisions through progress briefings and group discussions.We are working to strengthen the functionality of ouraftermarket sales divisions through these initiatives specificallyto enhance our ability to garner feedback directly fromend-users. Our goal in doing so is to capture a moredetailed picture of the needs of end-users and to apply thisfeedback in our product development and quality assurancesections as we work to create brake products that furthercontribute to safety and peace of mind.Presenting quality assurance policies at the auditCar Information CornerWe believe that growth in automobile demand will bring newbusiness opportunities to us and this will eventually enhanceour brand value.
