Leave Before/After Giving Birth
A leave of 6 weeks before giving birth (in the case of multiple pregnancies, 14 weeks) and 8 weeks after giving birth.
Childcare Leave
This policy is applicable until the end of March following the child’s third birthday. The leave may also be taken over multiple shorter time periods.
*A certain amount will be provided monthly by the Akebono Mutual Association as childcare leave support.
*Our childcare leave system exceeds the legal standards.
Reduced Working Hours during Childcare
This policy is targeted to associates caring for children who have yet to finish elementary school, and allows working hours within one day to be shortened up to two hours.
Nursing Leave to Care for a Child
Associates who wish to take a leave to nurse a child who has yet to finish elementary school may take up to 5 days per year to do so, or if nursing two or more children, the associate may take up to 10 days.
*The leave can be taken separately from annual paid holidays if for nursing a child who is injured and/or ill, or needs to receive a health check or vaccination.
Flextime system
There is no set core time.
However working hours within one day must be at least 4 hours.
Working hours within one day shall not generally surpass 12 hours
(Applicable time frame: 6:00 - 22:00)
Caretaking leave
If taking care of one person, 5 days can be taken annually for caretaking,
however if taking care of two or more persons,
up to 10 days can be taken annually.
Nursing Leave
This policy is applicable for a maximum of two years.
However upon the request of the associate in question during the two years, the leave may be extended or shortened.
Working Reduced Hours for Caretaking
Reduced hours and other measures can be taken up to a total of 3 years per one family member at one time.
Other Support
Subsidies for using childcare facilities. (A certain amount is provided monthly by the Akebono Mutual Association. This policy is applicable until the end of March following the child’s third birthday.)
