Yasushi Adachi of Team Ikuzawa takes Double Title in Mountainbike National Ranking and Japan Series

13.10.2007

Yasushi Adachi of Team Ikuzawa placed third at the Japan Cycling Federation-sponsored mountainbike Japan Series season finale, which took place at the Hakusan-Sena-Kogen Ski Resort in Ishikawa Prefecture on October 13. Adachi, whose bike is equipped with an Akebono brake system, took the championship for the second consecutive season, and the number one position for the national rankings, resulting in a double title for the year.

In the 2007 season, Adachi took two championships in the Japan Series, and two second place finishes in the Japan National Championship for a second position overall. In the last race of the Japan Series, despite a few minor mistakes, Adachi persevered for a third place finish. A steady series of podium finishes in the season led to a stable accumulation of points.

Due to his stellar performance, Adachi will don number “1” on his uniform in the 2008 season. All eyes will be on Adachi to see if he can keep up the pace next year.
