Akebono supplies brakes for the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) which has been held since 2012.

This racing series is comprised of endurance races longer than six hours each. It includes renowned events such as the "24 Hours of Le Mans", regarded as one of the top three endurance races in the world, and the "6 Hours of Fuji" held at Fuji International Speedway.

Akebono has been supplying brake calipers to the Toyota team from 2013. Akebono has supplied brake calipers to TOYOTA GAZOO Racing "TS050 HYBRID" since 2017, and to "GR010 HYBRID" since 2021.

A monoblock opposed piston type caliper developed according to requirements of endurance races. It is manufactured by machining a block of aluminum alloy. Each brake is built to the specifications that correspond to the weight, speed and required braking performance of the vehicle.
