Since 1974, when Akebono first started manufacturing brakes for motorcycles and scooters, we have been developing and manufacturing brake systems to the highest quality standards. We are capable of doing so because of our relentless pursuit of the strictest performance requirements, including stringent and delicate controllability, stability, and capability to handle various terrain and weather. Aluminum alloys are used for the brake calipers to reduce size and weight, without affecting their braking performance or durability.

The master cylinder is a device that converts the motion of the brake lever into hydraulic pressure. Since master cylinders are installed on the handlebars and are in the line of sight of the rider, they are required to be aesthetically appealing.
