The Vodafone McLaren Mercedes F1 team, to which Akebono supplied brakes, achieved second overall in the constructor's ranking.

The Brazilian Grand Prix, the last F1 race of the 2011 season, was held at the Interlagos circuit on Sunday, November 27, and as an official supplier, Akebono Brake Industry supplied brake systems to the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes F1 team. The team achieved second overall in the 2011 constructor's ranking.

In the driver's ranking, Jenson Button, who won the Canadian Gran Prix, the Hungarian Grand Prix, and the Japanese Grand Prix, was ranked second while driver Lewis Hamilton, who won the Chinese Grand Prix, the German Grand Prix, and the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, was ranked fifth.

The F1 brake calipers (2010 model) that are supplied to the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes F1 team will be exhibited at the Akebono booth during the 42nd Tokyo Motor Show 2011 that will be held at the Tokyo Big Sight (Open to Public: Saturday, December 3 - Sunday, December 11). We encourage everyone to visit our booth.
