Akebono Brake Industry Basketball Team Wins the Kanto Basketball Championship Tournament, Earns Spot in the All Japan 2013 Tournament
The Akebono Brake Industry Basketball Team was the overall champion of the 2012 Kanto Basketball Championship Tournament that was held in Maebashi City, Gunma Prefecture November 24th (Saturday) and 25th (Sunday). With this victory, the team earned the right to compete in the 88th Emperor's Cup All Japan Basketball Championship Tournament (commonly called: All Japan 2013) that will be held in Tokyo beginning January 1 (Tuesday), 2013.
This will be the first time that the Akebono Brake Basketball Team will compete in the Emperor's Cup basketball tournament since the team was first created in 1963. As a team, we are extremely proud and grateful for the opportunity to compete in such a prestigious event. We have adopted the catchphrase "One Goal, One Team, One akebono" and will work as a united team and do our best to be victorious so that we can instill excitement and courage in everyone. Our first game will be held January 1st (Tuesday) at 5:00pm in the Komazawa Gymnasium where we will take on the "SWOOPS" team, which represents the Tokai region.
