General Motors Safety Recall

General Motors has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 2015 model year Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon vehicles. The front brake calipers on some of these vehicles, which were produced by our subsidiary in the US, Akebono Brake Corporation (ABC), can leak brake fluid. As a result, GM has initiated a recall. ABC is working with GM to provide the necessary service parts to replace these calipers on all affected vehicles.

We do not expect this recall to have a material impact on Akebono group's financial result and we will not amend our financial forecast for FY2015.

Detailed information:
Due to the potential fluid leak, braking performance may be compromised in some of these vehicles. The total number of vehicles potentially involved is 14,838 units. No accidents have been reported in connection with this issue.

Affected vehicles: 2015 Chevrolet Colorado, 2015 GMC Canyon
(Not marketed in Japanese market)

Production dates: JAN. 6, 2014 - DEC. 24, 2014
(Vehicles produced after DEC.24, 2014 have improved front calipers)
